LASER HAIR REMOVAL IN AYRSHIRE
How many treatments will I need?
The average number of sessions required is around 6. In some cases, additional sessions may be necessary depending on hair density, colour and individual response to treatment.
How long before I see results?
Some reduction can be noticed after the first session. Hair in the treated area typically sheds within 1–2 weeks following treatment. With each session, a gradual reduction in regrowth is expected.
Does the procedure hurt?
Modern laser systems use cooling technology to improve comfort during treatment. Sensation varies by area, but most clients describe it as manageable.
What does the procedure involve?
Pre-treatment:
The area should be shaved using a new razor between 24 hours and 3 days prior to the appointment. A small amount of visible hair growth helps minimise skin irritation, so shaving immediately beforehand is not recommended.
During treatment:
Protective eyewear is worn for the duration of the session, appropriate to the wavelength being used. A cooling conductive gel may be applied to improve laser efficiency and comfort.
After treatment:
Sunbeds and direct sun exposure should be avoided following treatment, as this may increase skin sensitivity and the risk of hyperpigmentation. If sun exposure cannot be avoided, sunscreen is strongly advised.
Activities that generate excessive heat or moisture (such as saunas or steam rooms) should also be avoided temporarily.
Bathing and showering are fine, but shorter durations are recommended for the first 72 hours.
